When customer ask me question A, he ask me to provide answer B, example as per below(just an example question so you understand it easily) :

Customer : What is the answer for 1 + 1?

Boss's suggested answer : Tell him B.

When Boss call Customer to explain : Oh, please refer to vendor for the answer.

we, have the habit that, speak what help us to get help, sympathy and etc...but not all the details, especially those which put us in the "no good" category...
